The Global Samsung Semiconductor Special (GSSS) Program at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Seoul National University (SNU) is designed to provide students from Southeast Asia with the opportunity to pursue a master or PhD degree in the field of semiconductors, encompassing semiconductor devices, design, architecture, and system software.

To facilitate this, the ECE Department at SNU plans to admit these international students into its graduate program, offering them full scholarships that cover all tuition and fees, along with living expenses. The scholarship is provided by Samsung, whereas the admission to the program is a joint decision made by SNU-ECE and Samsung.

The program's completion requirements include coursework in semiconductors, certification in foreign languages (Korean and English), and a master’s thesis or doctoral dissertation in the semiconductor field. Upon graduation, students are obligated to join the Device Solution division of Samsung Electronics in Korea.

This program aims to foster deep interest in the semiconductor field, develop world-class research and technical skills, and contribute to the advancement of the global semiconductor industry.
